ALIBOTBOT

Alibotbot is a plant that belongs to the Apocynaceae family. It is scientifically known as Tabernaemontana pandacaquiThis plant is native to the Philippines and is commonly found in lowland areas.

The plant has elliptic-lanceolate to oblong-elliptic leaves that are 5 to 12 centimeters long, narrowed at both ends, shining, and short-stalked. The inflorescences are axillary and terminal, peduncled, and have rather few flowers. The fruits are oblong, 2 to 4 centimeters long, and longitudinally ridged or keeled. The plant is an erect, branched, and smooth shrub that can grow up to 1 to 4 meters high.

According to the Philippine Traditional Knowledge Digital Library on Health, the latex of the Alibotbot plant is used to treat wounds. The latex is squeezed out and applied directly to the wound.

There is no scientific evidence to support the use of Alibotbot for medicinal purposes. Therefore, it is important to consult a healthcare professional before using this plant for any health-related issues.

 


HOW TO USED PANDAKAKI (STEPS)

For eczema: 

  1. Boil 3 cups of chopped leaves in one gallon of water for 10 minutes;
  2. add 2 gallons of hot water.
  3. Fresh leaves are fried in oil and;
  4. applied to itchy skins lesions for symptomatic relief.
  5. Leaf juice applied for wound healing
